Everything you ever wanted to know about the BTS Exhibition <\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

At this time of year I receive many e-mails and calls from members regarding the BTS Exhibition.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

I have decided to post up a Frequently\u00a0Asked Questions page on the site. Hopefully this should tell you\u00a0everything you need to know.\u00a0 If I have missed anything please feel free to\u00a0contact me.<\/em><\/p>\n

What is the BTS Exhibition?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The BTS Exhibition is an event like no other in the world.\u00a0 It is a chance for spider lovers everywhere to meet, buy, sell and generally talk about spiders with like-minded people.\u00a0 In 2025 we housed around 50,000 tarantulas under one roof and had over 2000 visitors to the event.\u00a0 This year we have 110 Exhibitors and over 260 tables of inverts and spiders all waiting for you.<\/p>\n

When is the BTS Exhibition<\/em><\/strong>?<\/span><\/p>\n

The exhibition is held in May and this year the date is Sunday 17th\u00a0 May 2026.<\/p>\n

We are back and we are bigger!<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Where is the BTS Exhibition held?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The 2026 exhibition will held at The Warwickshire Event Centre. CV31 1FE<\/p>\n

The single hall is situated on the ground floor with excellent disabled access.<\/p>\n

How do I get there?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Directions are given on the BTS Website. \u00a0They can also be found under \u201cHow to get there\u201d on the main page of this site. The postcode for visitors is CV31 1FE.<\/p>\n

Is there parking?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

There is ample parking\u00a0with space for over 2000 cars. Car parking is FREE<\/p>\n

Do I have to pre-book tickets to visit the BTS\u00a0Exhibition?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

No you can pay on the door by cash or card.<\/p>\n

This year we have introduced On-Line Ticket sales that can bought from clicking the link on this page\u00a0 \u00a0The Exhibition is open to everyone. This year, like very year we will be issuing wristbands at the door. We aim to get all visitors in as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n

Do I have to be a member to get in?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Of course we would like you to join the BTS and help us continue to host this event for many more years to come, but the Exhibition is open to all.\u00a0 We welcome the public.\u00a0 Everyone is welcome. We do ask you to be subscribing member to enter the BTS Spider Competition<\/p>\n

What time does it open to visitors?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The exhibition opens at 11.00am and closes at\u00a04.00pm.<\/p>\n

How much does it cost to get in?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The 20256prices are \u00a36.00 for adults and \u00a34.00 for children up to 12. Under 5 are free. \u00a0 The official poster should be checked for any changes.\u00a0 The BTS holds the right to make any changes to the entrance fee without prior notification if circumstances dictate. We reserve the right to refuse admission. Members of the BTS get a 20% discount on the entry fee on presenting a current BTS membership card. Carers with registered disabled visitor will have free entry. This year \u00a30.50 from every online ticket will be donated to Alzheimers UK<\/p>\n

Can I buy spiders at the BTS Exhibition?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Yes, there are over 100 exhibitors at the exhibition.\u00a0 All of which are experienced tarantula and invert enthusiasts.\u00a0 They will be selling spiders but will be happy to give advice and help to the novice.\u00a0 The BTS does not allow the sale of animals to children.\u00a0 The handling of tarantulas and scorpions at the event is strictly forbidden.\u00a0 Not everyone loves them as we do.<\/p>\n

Can I sell spiders at the BTS Exhibition?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

To sell spiders or to exhibit you\u00a0MUST<\/strong>\u00a0pre-book space.\u00a0 This can be done by contacting\u00a0the BTS\u00a0directly for details, or by visiting \u201cTrade at the BTS Exhibition\u201d link.\u00a0\u00a0Nobody <\/strong>will be allowed to trade or exhibit at the event without permission.\u00a0 This rule will be strictly applied.<\/p>\n

Will there be reptiles for sale?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

No. The BTS Exhibition is an invert event for invertebrates only. We love reptiles of course but we feel that the BTS Exhibition should be for those who love insects and spiders even more.<\/p>\n

I have heard about the BTS Spider Competitions.\u00a0 What is it all about?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

You have the chance to win a fantastic trophy for\u00a0displaying your spider at the exhibition.\u00a0\u00a0You must be a subscribing BTS member<\/strong>\u00a0to enter.\u00a0<\/strong> Each year we have a number of categories in which you can enter your spider.\u00a0 Bring it along on the day and enter it.(You do not have to be BTS member to enter the art competition or the photography)<\/p>\n

Best Asian<\/p>\n

Best Africa<\/p>\n

Best Scorpion<\/p>\n

Best Artwork<\/p>\n

Best Photography<\/p>\n

Best Children\u2019s Artwork<\/p>\n

Are there refreshments available?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

There is a 200 seat licensed restaurant on site including a coffee bar.<\/p>\n

Can I join the BTS at the exhibition?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Yes please, we would love you to join the BTS.\u00a0 Please visit the BTS Trade Stand and ask for details. Current membership fees are \u00a320 and for this you will receive a reduced entry fee for next years show and two full colour journals throughout your membership<\/p>\n

What else is there for me to see and do?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Lots. \u00a0There is a free competition open to all BTS Members where you can exhibit your prize spiders and win unique trophies.\u00a0 There is a chance to meet other members and\u00a0\u00a0talk to the experts.\u00a0 We really are a friendly lot so don\u2019t be shy. \u00a0Any committee member will be more than pleased to offer assistance.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m afraid of spiders. Will people be handling\u00a0tarantulas at the BTS Exhibition?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

No.<\/strong> The BTS has a strict non-handling policy<\/strong>.\u00a0 Anyone seen\u00a0handling tarantulas at the Exhibition will be confronted and removed if\u00a0necessary.\u00a0 We are very aware that some visitors are afraid and we aim to\u00a0educate, not scare.<\/p>\n

Why do you not organise two exhibitions a year?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s a thought but the BTS Exhibition takes Angela and myself twelve months to organise. The exhibition is an annual event and\u00a0hosting two would detract from the original\u00a0idea.<\/p>\n
